LETS MAKE SOMETHING DOPE TOGETHER!
Al picked the “artist name” APCOMFORT her senior year of college even though her thesis teacher told her it was a stupid name that no one would remember. It’s her first, middle initial and last name (maiden). She graduated with a BFA in illustration in 2013 from Montserrat college of art, Beverly MA.
Al is a self proclaimed doodler since she had been told so many times thoughout her time in “arting” academia that she would, in fact, never be, a painter.
She relocated to Nashville when her husband was offered a job at the world famous Hatch Show Print. Moving away from everyone they’ve ever known was the best thing either of them could have ever done for themselves.
She fully believes in the same mindset of everyones favorite PBS painter Bob Ross that painting and drawing is for everyone. Just have fun, be authentic. Not everyone is going to “get it” but you will find your people eventually.
Find inspiration in everything, research weird stuff, listen to music you normally wouldn’t!
